About the course
Level 1 is an introductory course for wine enthusiasts, offering a structured overview of wine production and how it influences taste.
It’s suitable for hobbyists wanting to expand their knowledge as well for those seeking a career in the wine industry.
The course covers basic product knowledge, wine service, and retail skills, preparing individuals for entry-level jobs in hospitality, retail, or wine marketing.
Each lesson includes professional wine tastings, focusing on recognizing quality, sensory characteristics, wine descriptions, and using the tasting card.
Entry requirements
There are no requirements for candidates to have previous knowledge or previous experience of alcoholic beverages Students have to be 18 years or older at the starting day of the course

The Course Organization
During 9 lessons you will continue to develop your ability to recognize the different qualities of the wine. Train your senses and practicing how to describe wine
You will furthermore practice to differentiate between the grape varieties and how to recognize them.
Under the guidance of our professional teachers, you will learn more about the characteristics of wines from different countries, regions and subregions. Both through theory and through tasting you will learn about international enography

The Teaching Resources
At the first meeting, you’ll receive your course material, containing a textbook, study guide, self-assessment exercises, and summary sheet of the European School for Sommeliers. The program includes presentations, discussions and visual aids, as well as guided tastings and self-assessment exercises. Our experienced teachers will guide you through every step and be available to answer questions and encourage discussion both during lessons and outside of class.

Evaluation And Certification
The exams will be correct immediately and you will be given the results the same day.
If you fail the exam you can try again at any other exam-date within a 12 month period, as long as you have a valid membership card.
You can also do the exam Online Is a written exam consisting of both open and multiple-choice questions covering th theme of the Level.
You have 120 minutes to answer. To pass, at least at 60% of the answers must be right
Terms & Conditions
- The registration is binding and the costs will not be reimbursed.
- Paid card membership (84,00€) for the current year is obligatory in order to participate in the course.
- Payments: At the registration, to reserve your place: 384,00 €
(84,00€ membership card (if not acquired yet) and
300,00€ down payment Course fee) with last payment 549,00€ 5 days before the first lesson.
Minimum age: 18 year at the start of the course.

Level 2
Level 2 course is a wide overview of the global wine industry where you will taste different wines from all over the world and develop not only your knowledge, also your senses through crossed tasting.

Level 3
The Level 3 will give you the internationally recognized Sommelier certification. The course is designed for professionals who already work in wine, but is also suitable for oenophiles who wish to deepen their knowledge of wine or make a career change.
